One Month! 31 days

My flights are booked and everything is ready to go except for my finance situation. Once I get that all sent away everything will be good to go. I am in the process right now of getting my story out to newspapers to try and collect as many donations as possible. I am also going to be taking a suitecase of supplies with me so if anyone is interested in donating anything especially medical supplies for children or anything other than clothes that applies to children please email me at hopee91@hotmail.com I have contacted a lady I know and she is in the process of getting me children's tylenol and a bunch of other medical supplies. I also got an appointment today to get all my shots and medications I will need. I can't believe it but I leave in 31 days! Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers!

Mixed Messages

I called the GLA office today trying to confirm my flight times so I could book them and supposedly the lady had never heard of me so thats a major set back. She said she hadn't seen my police check or application she ended up finding the police check. So I resent my application to her and she was supposed to get it sorted out today but have not heard anything back:( Please keep your fingers crossed for me! I'll keep you updated!

Keep your fingers crossed for me! Haven't got to get ahold of Lori (lady who picks us up from airport) because she is on vacation right now and there are only seven seats left on the flight from Detroit to Miami with Brittnei!

Start of a new journey!

On Tuesday March 15th when I arrived home from school I had a new email from Callie (who is the lady I have been communicating back and forth with about going to GLA) saying that I had a spot to go down to Haiti to God's Littlest Angels(Haitian orphanage) with Brittnei (an amazing friend of mine)! I had been praying for this news for a month now! Check out God's Littlest Angels at www.glahaiti.org. Ever since I came home from the Dominican Republic a year from now actually I have had a passion to help others in third world countries. This opportunity sprang and I'm going to take it! While I am in Haiti I will be working with 8 children a day one each hour to help develop their skills, play with them and love them. I also probably will be assisting wherever else is needed like delivering much needed supplies, unpacking supplies sent in etc. I will have access to internet daily, (if its working), laundry once a week, tv, dvd player, showers and I will be sleeping in a bunk bed. Sounds like pretty nice living quarters to me:) So I've started to get everything in order, sending in my police checks, talking with work about taking three weeks off, talking to my parents, looking for flights etc. Next step is to book flight! And get the finances all arranged! It will cost me around $40.00 a day to stay for three weeks! All together will cost me about $1700.00. I will leave at the end of April with Brittnei and come home mid May. If anyone would like to donate or knows of anyone who would like to donate please let me know!
